About Us

Cut Rate Banners is a trading name of "Five Star Marketing", which in turn is a division of Five Star Selections Pty Ltd. It has been born out of decades of hard work and experience in retail and tradeshow sales and marketing.

Unlike most companies designing or printing your marketing and promotional materials, we were first and foremost customers just like yourself, needing simple cost-effective marketing and promotional materials that worked well and produced results.

We have actually worked on every level of the process of interesting a customer and delivering them what they need. We have been there at a retail outlet wracking our brains on how to get more customers into the shop. We have ground away on a tradeshow stand 12 hours a day attempting to reach new customers.

Our staff have been exhibiting at trade shows since 1989, managed national chain stores, worked in high-end graphic design companies, knocked on doors, staffed company showrooms, telemarketed to new and existing customers and even managed telemarketing divisions.

We have also been the ones having to make budgets balance, and weigh marketing costs against promotion need and effectiveness.

In short, we are knowledgeable enough to not only be sensitive to your needs, wants and problems, but to also offer useful advice and suggestions and help you avoid various pitfalls and mistakes.

What Our Customers Want

Having accumulated decades of experience on all facets of marketing, selling, designing and promoting, we know what works and what doesn't work. We know what our customers need (well... most of them anyway).

Our customers don't want to be sold $20,000 - $40,000 display systems that cost thousands to ship from location to location and take days of specialist assembly. They don't want to pay $4,000 - $5,000 for a professional design.

Correct us if we're wrong, but what our retail and tradeshow customers are looking for is the following:

1. QUALITY: Even though price is a very high priority, our customers don't want to end up with a low-quality unprofessional design or item. Our quality of printing and materials is very high, especially our vinyl banners.

2. PRICE: Cost is very important. If you do your research you will discover that not only are our prices very competitive, but in most cases they are dramatically less than our competition (sometimes 1/2 the price).

3. SELECTION: Customers want enough options to feel confident that the item they choose is the right one for their needs. You will notice a large selection of styles, quality and designs in each of our product categories.

4. ONE-STOP SHOP: They also want to be able to get all of the various items they need from the one location. Our website is continually evolving to add more and more services and products in an effort to enable you to get all printing, design and marketing needs without having to go anywhere.

5. SERVICE: And last but not least, customers want good service. If something isn't right they want it remedied. If they have a question, they want it answered. Service is always high on our priority list and something we are continually working to improve.

How is This Possible?

Over the years we have discovered suppliers that give us the best combination of quality and price. That is who we use.

We order in bulk and do our print jobs in bulk runs. This greatly reduces our costs, which again can be passed on to you.

As much as possible we automate everything through our website. While we are more than happy to receive a phone call from you, by setting up our website as our primary contact point, this frees up our staff to focus on producing high quality marketing items at a great price.
